Gone Too Soon: Chris Benoit

RIP Chris Benoit

For all of us who have been huge WWE fans or were forced to sit through a pay-per-view because our friends were rabid about it, it's a sad day.

Chris Benoit, the Rabid Wolverine, and his wife and son were found dead in his home in Atlanta this afternoon. No details have been disclosed, but the police are treating this as a homicide.

When I was a real wrestling nut earlier this decade, I loved watching his battles with Kurt Angle. It was amazing to watch him use his crossface to force his opponent to tap out.

In lieu of their regular Monday Night RAW show, the WWE will air a 3-hour tribute to Benoit tonight. You can catch it on the USA Network at 8 pm.

A well-known professional wrestler and his family were found dead inside their house in Fayette County Monday afternoon.

Authorities confirmed that Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their 7-year-old son, Daniel, were found dead at the home on Quarters and Redwine roads in Fayetteville about 4 p.m.

Officials were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide."

I hope to god he didn't kill his family. Such a great career to end like that.

this is a sad day for wrestling when i found out chris benoit was dead i was sad but then i found out that in has possible been ruled a double muder-suicide i had little remorse for him i felt bad for his wife his dead son on the others that don't have a mother or father now my thoughts and prayers are with them.

force his opponent to tap out.

Uhhh.... you know it's fake, right?

yeah, asshole. We know it's fake.
Three people being dead isn't.

"but then i found out that in has possible been ruled a double muder-suicide i had little remorse for him"

From ALL accounts, Benoit was a pretty good guy. Clearly something went horribly wrong in his mind, perhaps chemically induced, who knows. It's a tragedy for all three victims.

Now that MMA is a channel-flip away, why would anyone still watch fake-ass WWE? After watching MMA you realize how unbelievably lame WWE is.
