I lived in santa barabara (not goleta or isla vista) while I was going to school there. In Santa Barbara, every one reads the Independent anyway, where a lot of these journalists have ended up. I feel too many people have lost faith in the news press for it to be successful or embraced by citizens anytime soon, unless of course, what you described above takes place.
