Sidewalk Fight

Street fight: Quarreling over curbside sports escalates by the Daily News is the one article you must read today. It affects us all: past, present or future.

"No person shall play ball or any game of sport with a ball or football or throw, cast, shoot or discharge any stone, pellet, bullet, arrow or any other missile, in, over, across, along or upon any street or sidewalk or in any public park, except on those portions of said park set apart for such purposes," section 56.16 of the municipal code states.

So this afternoon, we rode our bikes to the Sherman Oaks residence to see the basketball hoop in question standing tall and proud. We were hoping to see a game in action because then, we might have joined in.

Afterwards, on our way to the Orange Line Bike Path, we came upon what is pictured above. Apparently Oren Barkan of Remax doesn't read the Daily News. But Kudos goes to Igor Linchuck of Paramount Properties for staying within the law...errr, kinda: "The other ordinance prohibits any structures from being placed on a public right of way, such as sidewalks or the grassy paths that abut curbs."
