LA's Team

Forget that the Angels won two of three from the Dodgers this past weekend. Forget that the Angels are in first place while the Dodgers have struggled of late. LA is still Dodgertown.

Mayor-Elect Antonio Villaraigosa made the perfectly clear on Friday night, throwing out the first pitch wearing Dodger blue.

"There's only one team in the city of Los Angeles, and that's the L.A. Dodgers," Villaraigosa said.

Damn straight. As long as the Angels play their home games in Anaheim, and the Dodgers play in gorgeous Chavez Ravine, the Angels will always be that "not-quite-LA" team. It doesn't matter how good they are. So while Arte Moreno has done a fabulous job with his team, the Dodgers are still leading the majors in attendance, by averaging over 47,000 fans a game.

The Mayor has spoken, Anaheim. You're not us. You are the OC. Deal with it. And have fun on your Fox TV Show. Now if only the Dodgers can start playing well again...

I don't know. I think if the Dodgers keep their slide, a lot of folks will jump onto the LA Angels bandwagon

LA loves winners, see the non-love for the Clippers
