The Ojai Music Festival is back to rescue you from the doldrums! This year's music director happens to be one of the world's most sought after pianists, Leif Ove Andsnes (you might remember his Chopin at the Disney Hall in February). Andsnes has curated an exciting lineup of musical guests.

We've got two FREE performances for this week! The Pacific Serenades will be showcasing the works of three gay composers that you might be familiar with: Mark Carlson, Miguel del Aguila and Laura Karpman.

Lots of fun vocal works are on schedule for this week! First up, the Industry, which bills itself as "a new home for opera in Los Angeles", recently premiered a new hyperopera (meta-collaborative, contemporary), "Crescent City".

Alan Gilbert and the New York Phil are in town this week, and Camerata Pacifica's 2012 season is drawing to a close.

Dudamel is off with the Berlin Philharmonic, as part of a celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Berlin Philharmonic. In the meantime, one of music's biggest names is coming to the Disney Hall this week.

Carl St. Clair will conduct the Puccini classic La Bohème one more time this Tuesday at 8 pm. The next LACMA's Sundays Live brings Juilliard's Jerome Lowenthal to perform with Nadia Schpachenko. Saturday night brings an end to Pasadena Symphony's season.

Not only were you TIME's Person of the Year, you're now an LAist Classical Pick (it'll look great on your resume). Artist Luke Jerram with the help of LACO, finally brings "Play Me, I'm Yours" (#PMIYLA), to Los Angeles, with 30 pianos in tow.

Maya Beiser, described by the New Yorker as "a cello goddess," made some time to chat with us last month. She was in town to record a featured cello part for the film "Snow White and the Huntsman" (starring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart).

LACO concludes their Westside Connection series this week at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica. Leila Josefowicz and John Adams join the LA Phil this weekend for Adams' Violin Concerto.

If you haven't heard, the first ever Piatigorsky International Cello Festival is going on right now, up until the 18th. If you're looking for something different to do on St. Patrick's Day, Vox Femina Los Angeles will present Shakespeare to Shamrocks on Saturday the 17th at Zipper Hall.
