There are champagne problems, and then there's this guy: A 25-year-old man was arrested at gunpoint Thursday night inside a home in Joshua Tree.

The Los Angeles Police Department announced this afternoon they determined that a man they fatally shot at the end of a brief pursuit Wednesday night on the 101 Freeway was unarmed, but that he had called 911 during the chase to say that he had a gun.

Authorities have released the identities of two victims of a shooting that took place early Wednesday morning in a vehicle near the USC campus. A woman, Ying Wu, and a man, Ming Qu, were found shot to death at the scene of what may have been a botched carjacking. Both victims, in their 20s, are graduate engineering students from China.
