A 54-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed this weekend by a San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputy driving his patrol vehicle heading to respond to a radio call. The incident took place Sunday night near Cedar and Santa Ana avenues in the city of Bloomington.

An intoxicated man who was trying to get a better look at those pretty city lights managed to impale himself in the leg on a wrought iron fence in the wee morning hours in the Hollywood Hills.
