Police in Burbank are asking one man to quit feeding the damn pigeons. Despite several warnings, and a citation, 59-year-old Charles Douglas can't seem to shake his habit of leaving bird seed in the alleys near Bob Hope Airport, and that habit has landed him in hot water.

DNA evidence has prompted the arrest of a 33-year-old Van Nuys man after he was linked to a 2002 rape, according to the Burbank Leader. Armen Shakhbazyan was arrested Thursday evening for his allegedly role in the rape of an unconscious 16-year-old girl at a South Glendale motel.

Although cities and counties in California are creating legislation to ban the distribution of single-use plastic shopping bags by stores and restaurants, one group has seen to it California's students will read a section in their textbooks about the positives about the bags.

The Los Angeles Police Department have released information about a suspect in the shooting death of Juan David Vasquez Loma, who was gunned down in what appears to be a random act of road rage violence that played out earlier this month on the streets of Silver Lake.

A pair of assailants are now facing murder charges following the death of a man they allegedly attacked at a storage facility last weekend. Gary Haynes had been at the storage unit in the city of Orange Saturday night when he and a friend were confronted by two men who engaged them in a violent fight, according to KTLA.

CVS Pharmacy got called out, and now they're going to be paying out: The company announced today they will pay $2 million as a result of a consumer protection civil lawsuit filed earlier this month by the District Attorneys of Los Angeles, Riverside and Ventura counties. The suit alleges CVS used false advertising by not providing an immediate discount for some advertised items.

Ballots are being cast today and tomorrow by unionized grocery workers from the big local chains and a strike could be authorized as a result. "Depending on the outcome of this vote, a strike could happen as early as next week," notes ABC7. The issue remains the employees' health care plan, and its monthly cost.

The LAPD announced that they are ramping up efforts to get impaired drivers off the streets, and to educate the public about the dangers of driving drunk.

It's three years' probation for a young woman who took the life of an elderly pedestrian in Glendale last year while she used her cellphone to text message while behind the wheel. When then-20-year-old motorist Ani Voskanian of Tujunga was arrested in December for her role in the September, 2010 death of an elderly pedestrian, Glendale mayor Ara Najarian said their city was suffering from a "distracted driver epidemic."
