In a preliminary vote taken today, the Los Angeles City Council has voted 11-1 in favor of an ordinance put forth that would require actors in adult films wear condoms. Adherence to the ordinance would be a condition of film companies receiving filming permits.

Burbank's Bob Hope Airport is losing a major airline. American Airlines announced today they are ceasing operation in and out of BUR, though the decision does not stem from the financially troubled company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, but rather just "normal business changes."

After the discovery of the body of a homeless man in Santa Ana this morning, local authorities are not willing to attribute the death to a serial killer targeting the homeless in Orange County. The body was found beside the truck in which the man lived.

The Los Angeles Police Department have released details about at least three of their planned checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols for this weekend. "Research shows that crashes involving alcohol drop by an average of 20 percent when well-publicized checkpoints are conducted often enough," notes the LAPD their news release.
