We'd like to take a moment to wish front man Matt Gangi a very happy birthday! Local indie folk outfit Marvelous Toy are poised to take on Juanita's Bar and Restaurant in Highland Park. And, lastly, LA-based indie rockers Sweaters will be headlining the Echo. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Natural History Museum to catch tUnE-YaRdS, the moniker of New England-based experimental lo-fi musician Merrill Garbus. The Atlas Sound, the experimental solo project of Deerhunter front man Bradford Cox, are poised to headline.
  • Tonight Nickel Creek fiddler Sara Watkins (LAist Interview) will be gracing Largo at the Coronet. Local indie rockers the Happy Hollows (LAist Review, #2, #3) will be taking on the Viper Room with LA-bred indie rock outfit One Trick Pony and garage rock act Dirt Dress. And, lastly, local folk rockers the Stevenson Ranch Davidians are poised to ring in their latest endeavor, 2010's Life & Death, at Spaceland with none other than San Franciscan singer-songwriter Miranda Lee Richards. But we strongly suggest heading over to Three Clubs to catch Santa Ana-based indie rockers Aushua.
  • Tonight, as always, local multi-instrumentalist/producer extraordinaire Jon Brion (LAist Interview, #2, Review) will be jamming with friends at the Largo at the Coronet. English rockers Band of Skulls are poised to perform to a sold-out crowd at the Troubadour with none other than local indie rockers Red Cortez (LAist Review, #2, #3). And, lastly, Saint Louis-bred alt-rockers Son Volt will be headlining the El Rey Theatre. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch prolific San Diegan post rock instrumentalists Tristeza, who will be ringing in their latest endeavor—2009's Fate Unfolds.
  • Tonight legendary British alternative rock singer-songwriter Morrissey will be headlining at the Gibson Amphitheatre. Local singer-songwriter Kenneth Pattengale is poised to grace the Hotel Café. And, lastly, LA-based experimental punk outfit Abe Vigoda will be taking on R Bar. But we strongly suggest heading over to Synchronicity to catch local lo-fi pop trio Pearl Harbor.
  • Tonight acclaimed Chicago-bred experimental post rockers Califone will be taking on the Hammer Museum. LA-based rapper Busdriver (LAist Review, #2) is poised to perform at the Airliner in Lincoln Heights. And, lastly, local prolific songwriter John Wood, who performs under the pseudonym Learning Music will be gracing the Silver Lake Lounge with none other than LAist favorite, Visalia-bred folk pop troubadour Nik Freitas. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch Brooklyn-bred electro-infused shoegaze outfit ZAZA, who will be performing for this week's edition of Club NME. LAist favorites, Echo Park-based indie rock act In Waves are slated to kick things off.
  • Tonight famed Pixies front man Frank Black will be performing under his stage name Black Francis at the Echoplex for Winston Calling: A Rock and Comedy Benefit for Baby Winston Bertrand. Brooklyn-bred electro-infused shoegaze outfit ZAZA are slated to perform in-store at Origami Vinyl. And, lastly, Seattle-by-way-of-Michigan folk songstress Rosie Thomas will be gracing Largo at the Coronet (CANCELED!). But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch local indie rockers Army Navy (LAist Interview, #2, Review). LAist favorites White Arrows are slated to kick things off.

Pennsylvania-bred progressive rock singer-songwriter Todd Rundgren (LAist Interview) is poised to headline the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown. And, lastly, Los Feliz-bred Top 40 maestros the Airborne Toxic Event will be performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown as well. But we strongly suggest heading over to the El Rey Theatre to catch Swedish electronic act Little Dragon.
  • Tonight local comedic rock and roll outfit Trainwreck (LAist Interview, #2), which features none other than Tenacious D's Kyle Gass, will be ringing in their latest disc at the Roxy. Fleet Foxes drummer J. Tillman is poised to headline the Troubadour. And, lastly, Toronto-bred noise-infused post-punk outfit Little Girls will be gracing Bordello. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Hotel Café to catch local singer-songwriter Kenneth Pattengale, who will be ringing in his latest effort—2009's Speak.
  • Tonight Australian singer-songwriter Butterfly Boucher will be gracing the Troubadour. LA-based string quartet the Section Quartet are poised to take on Largo at the Coronet. And, lastly, eclectic, experimental electronic duo Furcast will be performing at the Bootleg Theater. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echoplex to catch Athens-based folk troubadours the Vic Chesnutt Band. LAist favorites, local indie rock outfit Warpaint (LAist Review, #2, #3).
  • Tonight local indie rockers the Happy Hollows (LAist Review, #2, #3) will be concluding their month-long residency at Spaceland with none other than the Pity Party (LAist Interview, Review, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6) in tow. Costa Mesa-based psych rockers the Growlers are poised to grace Origami Vinyl. And, lastly, Highland Park's own experimental rockers Seasons will be taking on the Echo. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Hotel Café to catch LAist favorites, San Pedro-based indie rock outfit Dios (Malos) (LAist Interview).
