Tonight LA-based actress/musician Juliette Lewis will be gracing the Echo with none other than Parisian indie pop octet Tahiti Boy and the Palm Tree Family. LA-based electro pop duo Kisses, a small, newfangled splinter of Princeton (LAist Interview), are poised to perform in-store at Origami Vinyl, ringing in their forthcoming 7"—2010's Bermuda. And, lastly, LAist favorites Whispertown 2000 (LAist Review, #2) will be taking on the Silver Lake Lounge with female-fronted, bicoastal indie rock quintet, "both figuratively and technically," All Wrong and the Plans Change. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Henry Fonda Music Box to catch Philadelphia's own psych rockers Dr. Dog (LAist Review). Rhode Island-based rockers Deer Tick and Brooklyn-bred singer-songwriter Pepi Ginsberg are slated to kick things off.

Tonight Brooklyn-based multi-instrumentalist Mike Sniper, who performs under the pseudonym Blank Dogs, will be performing at the Echo for Part Time Punks. The aforementioned venue will, of course, be commandeered by local indie rockers Warpaint (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4, #5) earlier in the day for this month's edition of Kidrockers. And, lastly, LAist favorites the Monolators (LAist Review, #2) will be gracing Spaceland. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Bootleg Theater to catch Rhode Island-bred hip-hop and electro production duo Javelin.

Tonight, or rather early today, local country-infused folk, twin-sister duo the Watson Twins (LAist Review, #2, #3) will be making an appearance near the Bruin Bear statue at UCLA for the LA Times' Festival of Books. the Living Sisters—a triumvirate of venerable female troubadours, which includes Inara George, Becky Stark, and Eleni Mandell—are poised to grace the Bootleg Theater with none other than pseudo-super group Black Prairie, which of course includes three moonlighting members of the Decemberists. And, lastly, local singer-songwriter Kenneth Pattengale will be performing a very special, collaborative set at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Mon Mon with folk singer-songwriter Joey Ryan. Although we strongly suggest heading to the aforementioned show, we highly recommend heading over to Spaceland to catch Austin-bred indie rockers Shearwater, who will be performing in support of their latest—2010's The Golden Archipelago. LAist favorites, Baltimore-based folk rock duo Wye Oak (LAist Interview) and Lawrence's own Hospital Ships.

Nederlander Concerts kicked off the 2010 Los Angeles Greek Theatre season this past Thursday night and turned what could have been a chilly April evening into a joyous celebration of Tropicalia warmed by the music of Brazilian legend Caetano Veloso. With the cool, class and phrasing of an Andy Williams or Mel Torme, the visual lyricism of Pedro Almodovar (for whose films he has composed) and the politics of Zach De La Rocha, Veloso reached to touch every dimension of passion and love available to a master songwriter as if that was the easiest and most natural thing in the world to do. Judging by the respectful crowd seizing every opportunity to sing and dance with him—he was correct, and he succeeded.

The 2010 Coachella Music and Arts Festival capped off to a rather anticlimactic ending on Sunday night, with the standout performance of Atoms For Peace ending well before the rest of the festival did.

Tonight local multi-instrumentalist/producer extraordinaire Jon Brion (LAist Interview, #2, Review) will be jamming with friends at the Largo at the Coronet; And Jon's is performing less frequently these days, so you have no excuse to soak it up. Boston-based ex-Candy Butcher front man Mike Viola is poised to perform at the Hotel Café with pop singer-songwriter Bleu. LA-based grandiose, comedic art rockers the Fuxedos will be taking on Spaceland. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Bootleg Theater to catch local experimental electro pop songstress Cameron Mesirow, who performs under the pseudonym Glasser. Tonight Mesirow will be backed by Van Rivers and the Subliminal Kid—better known as the producers of Fever Ray and the forthcoming Blonde Redhead album.

LAist made the trek over to Westwood for an intimate pair of performances by Warpaint and Slang Chickens, respectively, at UCLA's Kerckhoff Grand Salon. The show, hosted by the Campus Events Commission, was a student-only affair and attracted a few dozen or so attendees. Slang Chickens began the evening with an ambiguous yet energetic set, complete with an electric banjo and a Grand Canyon-sized reverb in tow. Warpaint then followed and kicked-off their set with a 7 minute impromptu jam session before transitioning into their lead-in single, "Stars." The night concluded an hour later as the band closed out with the crowd favorite,"Elephants."

Long Beach-based indie rockers We Barbarians are poised to take on the Bootleg Theater with none other than female-fronted, bicoastal indie rock quintet, "both figuratively and technically," All Wrong and the Plans Change. And, lastly, multi-member Texan indie pop outfit Mount Righteous will be headlining an impromptu gig in the outskirts of Downtown at TOW (UPDATE: Moved to 6th St. Warehouse). But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to catch local indie rock act Eagle Rock-bred indie rock outfit Princeton (LAist Interview).
