Joining the ranks of Madonna, Beyonce and Jesus, Lindsay Lohan is planning to drop "Lohan" from her name and just go by Lindsay, reports Popeater. Apparently, the actress had been planning to shorten her name for some time, but wasn't sure people would still know who she was, what with Lindsay not being quite as recognizable as, say, Prince.

Graffiti artist Cristian Gheorghiu, a.k.a. Smear, has been sentenced to 13 days in jail and 45 days of graffiti removal for violating his probation, reports the LA Times. Gheorghiu was arrested in 2007 for tagging buses, and was recently charged with parole violation after he posted images of illegal graffiti on his website.

Street artist DeeKay, who's been gaining attention around town for her pieces featuring sexy women, recently revealed her identity, reports street art blog Melrose and Fairfax -- she's porn star Kylie Ireland. Melrose and Fairfax had been posting photos of Ireland's art for several weeks before figuring out her identity.

Faced with the possibility of a $500 million cut in state funding, California State University is planning to enroll 10,000 less students next year, and campuses will be asked to cut their budgets by a total of $281 million, reports the LA Times. The cuts will also mean fewer faculty and staff, as well as reduced spending by the chancellor's office, which itself faces a funding cut of $11 million, Chancellor Charles B. Reed told the Times.

The Lilo saga continues! Lindsay Lohan has refused a plea deal in a case that charges her with stealing a $2,500 dollar necklace from a Venice shop, according to the LA Times. The deal would have included her pleading guilty to grand theft, and up to 90 days in jail. Instead, Lohan will have a preliminary hearing with judge Stephanie Sautner, who will also consider Lohan's violation of probation on a 2007 drunk driving charge.

Following a fight that broke out at an office Christmas party last year, six employees at the Men's Central Jail will be fired, reports KTLA. The men were "part of a gang like clique, which included a three-fingered hand sign," according to KTLA. The fight occurred in the parking lot at Quiet Cannon Restaurant, where about 100 workers had gathered to celebrate the holidays.

Under a new ordinance in Orange County, registered sex offenders are now unable to go into state parks without written permission from the county. If found, they could be charged with a misdemeanor and fined or sent back to jail, reports the OC Register. The ordinance was approved preliminarily by the county's Board of Supervisors, and will go to a final vote on April 5.

The LA County Board of Supervisors approved the allocation of $31 million in private funds to expand the LA Natural History Museum, a project that's now in its final stages. According to a statement released by the county, the funding will be put towards a landscaped amphitheater, at least ten new gardens and a pond, as well as new fences to replace the concrete walls that currently contain the museum.
