AIM Medical Associates, formerly Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation, has officially shut down. The clinic, located in the Valley, had been a go-to spot for porn performers to get STI and HIV testing. Founded in 1998, they were known for speedy results and a database that could be accessed by others in the industry to verify a clean bill of health.

The fire that had blackened three acres of Catalina Island as of yesterday has now trailed across 117 acres, reports LA Now. The fire is now 85% contained, and according to Fire Inspector Don Kunitomi, the active flames have been extinguished. Over 100 firefighters worked yesterday evening and throughout the night battling the blaze.

Firefighters are battling a blaze on Catalina Island, after successfully putting out brush fires in Tujunga Canyon and Inglewood. LA Now reports that the fire, which is threatening buildings at the Catalina Yacht Club, is being fought with water drops from helicopters, and that additional firefighters are being sent to the area (LA Now reports that 100 firefighters are on their way; KNBC estimates the number at 65).

Three members of a rival gang are being blamed for a shooting in Watts that injured seven people, reports ABC 7. wThe gunmen opened fire on a party on Saturday, which was being held to raise funeral funds for a 22-year-old man who had been killed.

Rick Springfield, crooner famously known for belting out lyrics like "Jessie's got himself a girl, and I want to make her mine" and for briefly playing the role of Dr. Noah Drake on the hit TV show General Hospital, was arrested for a DUI in Malibu last night. Officials report that Springfield was seen driving erratically down PCH in a 1963 Corvette (yes, we also think that this sounds suspiciously like the plot from a 1980's teen movie).

Being sheriff has its perks -- to the tune of $120,000, if you're Sheriff Lee Baca. ABC 7 reports that in his 13-year tenure, Baca has accepted gifts in the form of expensive liquor, tickets to shows and travel. And a database posted at the LA Times reveals that Baca has enjoyed many a game of golf on someone else's tab, including local attorney David Hochman and real estate developer Michael Schwab.

Gusts of wind reached 54 miles per hour yesterday, knocking over trees and shutting down power across SoCal, reports KTLA. The highest winds appeared to be in the Angeles National Forest, with areas in San Diego and Santa Barbara also feeling it in the 30-mile-an-hour range. A wind advisory is in effect until this afternoon, notes KTLA.

Today's May Day march, which is held to draw attention to the issue of immigration reform, was markedly smaller than it has been in recent years, reports Southern California Public Radio. Several thousand people took to the streets at 10 a.m. for the march, which left from Olympic and Broadway. The march has gotten smaller over the years since hundreds of thousands marched on 2007, and were infamously fired on by police with rubber bullets and struck by police batons.

Residents of the Eastside now have more green space in which to frolic -- Elysian Park has been expanded by five acres, and the new area is now open to the public. In a statement, Councilman Eric Garcetti announced that the addition of landscaped acreage would include two game courts, a playground, lawn areas, picnic tables, a walking path, an outdoor classroom area, and parking spaces.

It's a story straight out of a great B-movie: a 61-year-old Orange County doctor was found in a Mercedes doing "large amounts of cocaine" and having sex with a 29-year-old physician's assistant, according to KTLA. Security guards saw Alan O. Marcus and Amanda J. Aguirre sitting in the car in a parking structure near Saddleback Memorial Medical Center at around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
