A couple has been arrested after they allegedly robbed a mom in a parking lot then hit her with their car while trying to make a quick getaway, reports KTLA. The mom, whose name hasn't been released, told police that she was walking through the lot in San Jacinto with her three small children when she was approached by a woman later identified as Lakeisha Pinkney.

Last week, Cal Poly kids were getting punched for their cell phones, and now, UCLA students are being robbed as they roam the streets surrounding their school in Westwood. According to the Daily Bruin, a total of seven robberies have been reported in the area since the beginning of April.

A lobster poacher -- or, as they say in my hometown of Boston, a lobstah poachah -- in Orange County who was caught in January with more than three times the legal limit of lobsters was fined $20,000 and had to spend seven days in jail. City News Service reports that 30-year-old Marbel Para of Romoland was picking the little red fellows up on Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve on January 15. It's perfectly legal to catch them by hand for your own devices, but you can only take seven a day.

A man holding a woman and two children hostage in Venice was shot in the face by police, reports City News Service. The incident went down at about 1:15 this morning, after a neighbor heard a woman screaming for help and called the cops. When they showed up, they were able to see the suspect pinning a woman against a wall inside the house at Penmar Avenue and Lake Street. They heard a gunshot, and called in the SWAT team.
