LAPD said that protestors demonstrating against the George Zimmerman verdict in Hollywood stormed the W Hotel and vandalized it, causing $15,000 worth of damage. The LAPD report was picked up by local media outlets without challenge. The only problem? It never happened, according to spokespeople with the hotel.

Actor Cory Monteith, best known for playing Finn Hudson on Glee, was discovered dead in his Vancouver hotel room today at the age of 31. Police told the Hollywood Reporter that when staff from the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel checked on his room on the 21st floor, they discovered his body.
