A student at South East High School in South Gate is in critical condition after a boy stabbed her during lunch break today. Four people who stepped in to rescue the girl, including a school dean, were also injured. The stabbing attack happened today after 11 a.m. and the school was temporarily locked down until 1 p.m., according to KCAL.

The hysteria over listeria continues, and now there's a new culprit: shredded romaine lettuce. California's True Leaf Farms is voluntarily recalling 2,498 cartons of shredded romaine that may have been contaminated with listeria, according to the FDA. That's the same contaminant that has been linked to the deaths of 15 people who ate cantaloupes from Colorado tainted with the organism.

A drunk woman driving six children in her SUV got into a rollover crash early this morning in Lancaster, which landed two children in the hospital with major injuries. The woman identified as Stanesha Nicole Allen, 31, of Lake Los Angeles has been charged with a DUI, according to the Los Angeles Times. It's not clear yet what Allen's relationship to all the kids is.

A Santa Clarita man shot his next door neighbor to death after the two got into an argument early this morning, according to sheriff's homicide detectives. The 51-year-old victim walked over to his next door neighbor's house around the 3 a.m. to complain about some ongoing dispute. The neighbor shot the 51-year-old man in the torso, killing him. Firefighters pronounced him dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old Riverside man has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy with a toy light saber, according to KTLA. Javier Enrique Perez was found guilty on four felony counts, including "sexual penetration by foreign object by force."

Last nice, violence erupted at a party in South Los Angeles. One man went on a shooting rampage that killed one and left nine people wounded. One guest described the shooting: "It was sudden, out of nowhere. He started shooting. People were panicking, running, dropping to the floor, including myself. All the fences were toppled. It was chaos."
