An ex-Tournament of Roses volunteer with a squeaky-clean image is being held in the 2004 murder of another volunteer Donna Kelly, 59, who disappeared before her daughter found her body in her mothers car. Detectives say that DNA evidence linked Richard Allan Munnecke, 71, of Alhambra was found on Kelly's decomposed body.

Some parents of students at Miramonte Elementary School have said that because they're undocumented immigrants, they are afraid to cooperate with law enforcement in the Miramonte abuse scandal—despite pleas from the sheriff's department. The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of L.A. (they're the ones who said John & Ken listeners made threatening calls to them) has been coordinating with two attorneys bringing eight suits against LAUSD in the Miramonte abuse scandal.

City attorney Carmen 'Nuch' Trutanich, who said he wasn't interested in seeking higher office during his 2009 campaign, has officially thrown his hat in the ring by announcing that he would run for District Attorney.

A naked man climbed to the top of a tower in downtown this afternoon. Witnesses said not only is he naked but he's been gesticulating wildly and yelling. An LAPD spokesman confirms with City News Service that, yeah, the man might be "mentally unstable" and he's threatening to jump.

Neighbors of San Onofre's nuclear plant in San Clemente are demanding that their city install radiation monitors around town that are available to the public. The residents are on edge after a "tiny" leak was reported at the nuclear plant last month that prompted Southern California Edison to shut down the reactors.

An LAPD prostitution sting along Lankershim Boulevard last Thursday ensnared a county worker, who just happened to be driving a county-issued truck at the time. Mitchell Tharp, 49, a 12-year veteran of the county was arrested for trying to pick up a prostitute, according to the Daily News.

Two men broke into a home in Bel Air Estates this morning, tied up a man, threatened his wife and made off with two motorcycles. The robbery happened this morning around 4:30 am at a home above Sunset and Sepulveda, according to City News Service.
