The historic Alex Theatre in Glendale, which had been supported by state funds to redevelopment agencies, could be shuttered. For now, Glendale Arts, the nonprofit group that operates it, is trying to figure out a way to keep the theater open or buy it themselves.

Concert promoters Goldenvoice announced today that they had purchased 280 acres around the site where the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals are held. There were few other details about how much the land cost or what the company's plans were for development, but a release from the company noted that the purchase includes the Eldorado Polo Club, Triangle Bar Farms, Fish Creek and Ambassador Glen Holden's property.
