What I cover
I lead LAist's community engagement team, which builds closer relationships between our newsroom and the communities we serve. We reach out to neighborhoods across SoCal, talk to community members about what's on their minds and bring back their insights, perspectives, questions and experiences to the newsroom to guide our coverage.
My background
I joined LAist in 2016 and spent four years as the newsroom’s social media lead, then served as a community engagement producer from 2020 to 2025. Throughout this time I focused heavily on elections and civics: writing voter guides, covering results through our post-election newsletter, delivering in-person workshops on how to research the local offices on your ballot and personally answering hundreds of voter questions.
My goals
I want people to feel that their local newsroom is a welcoming, trusted part of their community that equips them to solve problems together.
