Garden Grove police are investigating the death of a woman who reportedly fell or jumped from a moving vehicle headed eastbound near Magnolia Street on the 22 Freeway just before 3:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The OC Register reports that the driver of the vehicle told police he stopped, put the victim back in the car, and took her to his residence in Santa Ana where he called the police. ABC Local reports that a nearby motorist saw the woman jump, picked her up, and took her to his home in Santa Ana before alerting police.

Santa Ana Fire Department and the Garden Grove Police Department responding at the residence pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Detectives determined the victim had "fallen out of the vehicle, striking her head, causing major blunt-force trauma," reports the OC Register, however the cause of death and circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

No names have yet been released by police. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Garden Grove Police Department at 714-741-5704.
