Westbound 210 To Be Closed For The Weekend In Pasadena

Got plans up in the Pasadena area this weekend? Maybe you're hoping to catch some Pokemon outside the Rose Bowl?
Well, you might want to reconsider, cause the traffic situation isn't looking too hot. As reported by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, a 2-mile stretch of the westbound 210 Freeway will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m Monday. The closure will happen on a stretch that, approximately, runs from Lake Ave to Mountain Street.
The westbound off ramps at Marengo and Mountain, as well as the on-ramp at Walnut Street, are expected to be shut down. And you know what? The Colorado Bridge will also be closed on Saturday for the "Colorado Street Bridge Party."
So, all in all, you don't want to be driving around up there. According to NBC 4 the westbound 210 will be closed again for the weekend of July 29 to August 1.
If you need to head northwest from Pasadena (maybe you want to visit the apparently "toxic" Pyramid Lake?) you can connect to the 5 North from the 110 South. And if you need to go up to the La Cañada area, you can get there via the 2 North.
According to Caltrans, the closure is part of a $148.5 million pavement rehabilitation project that is taking place on both directions of the 210. The project will pass through Glendale, La Canada Flintridge and Pasadena.
