Two Women Killed In Crash On The 110, Driver Arrested For DUI
Two women were killed last night when their car crashed into a tree and a chain-link fence on the 110 freeway in Highland Park. The driver has been arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The women were traveling northbound in a 2011 Nissan Sentra at 1:30 in the morning when they crashed near the Avenue 52 exit, according to City News Service. Firefighters responding to the crash were able to free three of the women via a hydraulic prying tool from the wreckage. Two of the passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.
The two passengers killed in the crash were identified by City News Service as 23-year-old Blanca Belman Almanza and 22-year-old Ana Cuadra. The identity of the driver has not been released, but the L.A. Times reports she is a 22-year-old from San Gabriel.
The three surviving passengers are in serious condition at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, CNS reports.
