Police responding to reports of an accident found an overturned Audi with two men inside suffering from gunshot wounds.

The incident happened in Westminster early Saturday morning at the corner of Springdale and Ash Streets, just one block south of the 405 freeway. Police believe the victims were shot while driving away from a taco stand. A suspect, 27-year-old Ryan McAlister of Costa Mesa, was arrested later in the day based on interviews from witnesses and evidence collected from his house and vehicle, according to City News Service.

McAlister is described as a "transient" from the area. Authorities believe that McAlister knew the victims, but had no additional information. McAlister was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently being held on $1 million bail.

The unidentified victims were transported to area hospitals, where one is in serious condition and the other is stable.
