LA and San Francisco transit agencies feud ahead of Dodgers-Giants series
When a rivalry is as legendary as the one between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants, apparently even public transit agencies get involved.
On Monday, Caltrain, a commuter rail service that runs from San Jose through San Francisco, posted a TikTok mocking L.A.’s car-centric reputation.
@gocaltrain The @San Francisco Giants - @Los Angeles Dodgers series is back in the Bay Area this week! Wondering how to get to the games? Make Caltrain a part of your journey, and ride with us July 11-13th! Go Giants, Go Caltrain! ⚾️

In the video, two people dressed in Giants gear decide between driving or taking Caltrain to Oracle Park.
“It’s fast, affordable and the trains arrive every 30 minutes,” one of them says of Caltrain, which stops a block away from the baseball stadium. There are also other local transit agency stops near Oracle Park.
They end up choosing to drive but are alarmed when, immediately upon entering the car, their Giants jerseys and hats have been replaced by Dodgers merch.
The video ends with the caption: “Driving is for Dodgers fans. Go Giants. Go Caltrain.”
L.A. Metro, the countywide transportation agency, didn’t just take the stray. It responded with its own video showing crowds of Dodgers fans using Metro and asking commenters, “Remind us the last time the Giants won.”
There aren’t any direct rail links to Dodger Stadium. The Chinatown Station on the A Line, which is three-quarters of a mile away, is the closest train station.
Metro offers a bus that shuttles fans to and from Union Station in downtown L.A. and Dodger Stadium. The Dodger Stadium Express also services several stops in the South Bay.

The teams will carry the rivalry onto the field this weekend. The Giants host the Dodgers — who are looking to snap a six-game losing streak — for a three-game series starting Friday.
