Bass Announces More Assistance For Businesses Hit By 10 Freeway Closure

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has announced the city will offer more resources for businesses affected by the closure of the I-10 freeway downtown.

What the city's offering: Bass has announced L.A. will offer micro-enterprise grants and a new resource centers. She also said city officials are visiting businesses in the area immediately surrounding the location of the fire to offer resources and support.

How to apply for the grants: The city is accepting applications at http://emergency.lacity.gov/ until midnight on Dec. 10.

The backstory: The city has been offering other services for businesses that have been impacted by the freeway closure, like free one-on-one consultation and services to help businesses avoid layoffs.

What's next: The economic impact will likely be smaller than many had predicted earlier this week, as city officials have said the closed sections of the I-10 Freeway will reopen no later than Tuesday, Nov. 21 weeks ahead of schedule.
