Hustler's New Hollywood Store Will Sell More Clothes, Including Um...Activewear

Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

If you're in the market for adult toys, you’ll soon be able to pick up some new clothing to match when Hustler opens its new Hollywood location.

After getting kicked out of their long-standing Sunset Strip location by Gwyneth Paltrow, the iconic Hustler Hollywood store will move east with decidedly more clothing options. It seems the tourist-friendly purveyor of vibrators, crotchless panties and other quality adult merch is expanding to offer more "everyday apparel and activewear”, according to Racked L.A. And while the “activewear” they’ll be selling is likely designed more for the gym than the bedroom, who’s to say where you’ll put it to good use.

"We are carrying more clothes because customers are asking for it," explains Phillip Del Rio, Hustler's vice president of retail, in an email to industry trade publication Apparel News. "Our position as a lifestyle brand is growing and we need to expand departments outside of adult product to accommodate our customers."

And while there were initial concerns that Hustler might be reducing the number of toys and other adult merch to make room for more everyday clothing, Del Rio assured LAist via email:

We are in no way reducing the amount of adult product that the Hustler Hollywood store is selling. We are simply growing categories in addition to our ever-expanding toy selection. That department will always be a major focus of our brand.

Phew, looks like Hustler Hollywood will remain one of our favorite sex toy shops in L.A. after all.

The new Hustler Hollywood will be located at 6540 Hollywood Blvd. at the corner of Schrader Blvd., the opening date is still pending.

Editor’s Note: A previous version of this story incorrectly suggested that Hustler Hollywood would offer fewer adult toys at their new location. We apologize for the error.

As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.

Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.

We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.

No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.

Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.

Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
