Tow Truck Employee Sexually Assaults College Student Whose Car Broke Down
A towing employee is being sought by police after he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman in a Pierce College parking lot while helping her with her car battery.
The nightmarish incident happened on Feb. 10 around 8 or 8:30 p.m. in a parking lot near the Music Department building at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CBS 2 reports. The victim, a student at Pierce, was having trouble with her car battery and called a towing company to come out and help her, CBS says.
The alleged suspect showed up in a white Toyota Prius. While the man was fixing the battery, he allegedly grabbed the woman and groped her breasts and buttocks, the L.A. Times says. After that, the woman then locked herself in her car and drove away, notifying police soon after.
Authorities are not releasing the name of the towing company, the logo of which was emblazoned on the side of the suspect's Prius. The man is described as a Latino man around 35-40 years old with facial hair, the Times says.
Any information on the case is urged to contact the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department at (323) 267-4848 or the sheriff's office at Pierce College at (818) 719-6450.
