Monday Will Be the Busiest Day of the Year at LAX
Were you planning on avoiding the masses at LAX this weekend by booking a flight back home this Monday? Well, it turns out you and 167,000 other travels had the same bright idea.
Tomorrow will be the busiest day of the year at LAX (which we told you is the busiest airport this season), airport officials told City News Service. There are expected to be 167,000 travelers passing through LAX tomorrow, which is up 16 percent from last year.
The most crowded times of the most crowded day will be from 6 until 9am, 11am until 2pm and 7 until 10pm, officials said. Yeah, so pretty much all day long. Watch out for police handing out tickets to people in white zones, which are only for immediate loading.
Officials with LAX said they estimate about 1.78 million passengers will pass through the airport this year, which is up from 1.53 million in 2010 but is still below pre-9/11 figures.
