Today is a General Municipal Election Day in L.A.

Ring, ring! Civic duty is calling, Angelenos! Today is a City of Los Angeles General Municipal Election day. Polls are open today from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Information about today's election, as well as polling places, and, later today, poll results, are available online via the City Clerk's Election page.On the ballot: Two education runoff races. One is the Los Angeles Unified School District Board District 5 runoff between Luis Sanchez and Bennett Kayser. The second is for the Community College Seat 5, between Lydia A. Guitierrez and Scott Svonkin.
All registered voters are encouraged to review their Official Sample Ballot before going to vote, the City Clerk advises.
In Los Angeles County, some voters are taking to the polls for the Congressional District 36 Special Primary and Consolidated Elections. You'll find voting information online via the County Registrar-Recorder's election site.
