The Long Beach Police Department has released a sketch of the man accused of a hate crime against a Muslim woman in the parking lot of a Bixby Knolls Trader Joe's.The woman said she was loading groceries into the trunk of her car around 4:30 p.m. on July 2 in the 4000 block of Atlantic Avenue when a man came up from behind and pulled off her black hijab while swearing at her, L.A. Times reports. His curses indicated he recognized she was Muslim and knew what a hijab was. She said he then ran into an alley and disappeared, taking her hijab with him.

The woman suffered abrasions to her neck and was treated at the hospital.

The man has been described as being in his early 30s, about 5'9" and thin, with brown hair and a trimmed brown beard and mustache. He was wearing black pants, a white button-up shirt and black shoes.

Yesterday, we reported on an 80-year-old Bixby Knolls man who said he had no remorse over shooting a young woman who said she was pregnant after he claims he caught her and a man ransacking his upscale home.
