Suspicious Vehicle Prompts 91 & 71 Freeway Closures In Corona
Just as traffic picked up for the Friday afternoon commute through Corona, authorities shut down the 91 Freeway in both directions, as well as the 71 Freeway, to investigate what they called a "suspicious vehicle." The vehicle in question is a U-Haul truck that had reportedly been parked off Green River Road for several days, according to a live report on KCAL-9. Because the U-Haul truck was leaking some sort of fluid, investigators used a remote device to determine if the liquid was hazardous.
Inside the U-Haul, investigators found what was initially reported as a body, however the Press-Enterprise is reporting that the "body" was that of an "injured woman." The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The freeways are expected to be opened ahead of rush hour, and an investigation into how the woman came to be in the truck is underway.
