Sometimes we poke around the LAist Featured Photos pool on Flickr and spot a trend. Today, it's all about sundown, and some shots of a few recent sunsets. While often it's the crazy colors of the seemingly-painted sky that make for amazing photos, this time it's a bit about the mood, the brilliance of the sinking sun, and, of course, the sky that make this sampling of images stand out.

PS, today's sunset is expect at 5:42 p.m. so you've got a few minutes to head outside and enjoy nature's nightly spectacle.
