Sobriety & Driver's License Checkpoint Tonight in Hollywood
The LAPD will be running a Sobriety & Drivers License Checkpoint tonight from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. in Hollywood, on Sunset Boulevard between Genesee Avenue and Spaulding Avenue. This is part of their ongoing effort to remove alcohol-impaired drivers from the road and to educate the public about the dangers of driving while intoxicated. The summer months are particularly dangerous for motorists; the LAPD says that in 2008 "law enforcement statewide reported that 7, 801 people were injured or killed during the three summer months of June, July and August."
