Sherman Oaks Strip Mall Sees Fire, Sees Rain

130 firefighters responded to a rainy day blaze on Sunday just before 8:00 a.m. in a Sherman Oaks strip mall. According to Sherman Oaks Patch at least seven businesses suffered severe damage in at the Sherman Oaks Plaza including Tochal Market and Deli, Sherman Oaks Beauty Supply, Smart for Life Cookie Diet, and Got Muscle? Nutrition.

The large fire was declared a "major emergency" and took 42 minutes to extinguish.
A Sherman Oaks resident standing near the adjoining Starbucks reported seeing heavy smoke coming from outdoor lighting fixtures, flames in the corner ceiling of the beauty supply store and smoke coming through the roof of the building. No injuries reported from the fire and the cause is under investigation according to the LAFD.
