Pre-Oscars Street Closures In Hollywood Ramp Up Sunday Night

The 89th Annual Academy Awards show begins next Sunday, February 26, which means that the annual Hollywood traffic nightmare ramps up this Sunday.

Beginning tonight at 10:00 p.m., Hollywood Boulevard from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue will be closed to sidewalk and vehicle traffic through 6:00 a.m. on March 1.

Pedestrian traffic will also be blocked along Orange Drive, between Orchid Alley and Hollywood Boulevard, as well as along Hawthorn Avenue between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive.

Tomorrow, Monday, beginning at 10:00 p.m. and extending through 6:00 a.m. on March 1, Hawthorn Alley behind the El Capitan theater will also be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

According to the Los Angeles Times, two movie premieres on March 1 and 2 have extended the annual Hollywood road closures beyond their usual timeline.
