Police Seek Person of Interest in Sherman Oaks Club Shooting

Shots rang out early this morning in Sherman Oaks outside Smiles Nightclub on Ventura near Woodman Avenue. Minutes before 2 a.m., a man standing outside was confronted by two other men and a fight broke out. The victim was shot in the head and is in critical condition.
Using a surveillance photo, police believe the man pictured here might be the suspect, who was last seen entering the passenger side of a getaway car described as a late- model, light-color Honda or Toyota that headed west on Ventura.
Anyone with information or who recognizes this person of interest is urged to call LAPD Van Nuys Area homicide detectives at (818) 374-1917/1918. During off-hours, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (527-3247). Callers may also text “Crimes” with a cell phone or log on to www.lapdonline.org and click on Web tips. When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with “LAPD.” Tipsters may remain anonymous.
