Mar Vista Woman Sexually Assaulted By Stranger While Showering

Last month, a woman was sexually assaulted by a stranger while she was taking a shower in her Mar Vista apartment. Now the LAPD has released a photo taken from a surveillance video from the victim's apartment building. Police are looking for the man in the photo. They're not saying he's a suspect but they're calling him a "person of interest" in the case who might know something about what happened.
The police aren't released too much information about the sexual assault. They say it happened around 3:30 pm on May 31, in a Mar Vista apartment and that the victim was in her 20's.
The LAPD calls the incident "isolated" and says it shouldn't be cause for the community to be concerned. (We hope they're right.)
Anyone with information is asked to call Operations-West Bureau Sexual Assault Detail, Detective L. Nunez at (213) 473-0447.
