Obama's Quick L.A. Visit: LAPD Releases Limited Traffic Details

President Barack Obama is coming to L.A. for one more pre-election schmoozefest, this time on the couch of "The Tonight Show" for a chat about the campaign with host Jay Leno. It's really going to be a quickie visit for the Commander-In-Chief, but that doesn't mean it won't be without traffic woes.
Obama is slated to arrive at Los Angeles International Airport at 5:25 p.m. fresh off the campaign trail in Colorado. He will then head to Burbank to NBC Studios to tape the talk show. A route for Obama's travels Wednesday evening has not been released, and the Los Angeles Police Department says "specific details about his destinations are not available for security purposes," one much-discussed scenario in the media today is that Obama will travel by helicopter to Burbank, thereby not causing much inconvenience for L.A.'s drivers.
However, the LAPD still caution that the streets surrounding LAX, as well as streets in Burbank (that's as specific as they get in their media release) are subject to closure and delay.
"Every effort will be made to minimize the traffic impact to the public while the President is traveling through the City," notes the LAPD.
Obama is expected to head right back to LAX after his "Tonight Show" appearance, and is scheduled to leave there on Air Force One and head to Las Vegas at 7:45 p.m.
