Missing Violinist Korda Found Dead Yesterday

Authorities revealed this morning that missing Van Nuys resident and violinist Robert Korda, 54, "was found dead on July 12 by LAPD Missing Person Unit detectives at the Los Angeles County Coroner," according to the Daily News. However, "the cause of his death is under investigation."

Korda's son Noah was actively using the internet to spread the word about his missing father, in the hopes that someone might come forward with information to help the LAPD locate the man. Late last night he posted this message on his blog:

The final update for now. 7/12 11:55pm My father has been found and my family and I are making funeral arrangements.

At the families request, we ask at this time to please do not call any of the family's cell phone numbers or home numbers.

The LAPD has been amazing in all of this that words can not describe.

I personally along with my family want to thank everyone who posted, tiwittered, gave information, spread the word, along with all the coverage in the Media

Police still need help in determining what happened to Korda, who was last seen mid-afternoon on July 8th at his home in the Valley. He had been due to work at Gower Studios that day, but did not show up as scheduled. "The family also advised police that it is out of character for Korda to have lost contact with his family."If you know anything, please contact LAPD's Missing Persons Unit at (213) 485-5381 or text "Crimes" via cell phone or provide an online "Web tip." (When using a cell phone, all messages should begin with "LAPD." Tipsters may remain anonymous.)
