A man was shot and killed by a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy in Palmdale early this morning, according to reports.

Details are still a little sketchy, but City News Service reports that deputies found the man at 37900 block of 47th Street East in Palmdale around 3 a.m. and that he was a suspect in a crime. After being shot, the man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died.

No details about the man have yet been released by the sheriff's department. KTLA says police taped off a shopping center near a Rite Aid and Taco Bell on that block to investigate.

Update (1:40 p.m.): The Daily News now reports that the man was a DUI suspect who hit a fast food restaurant with his car. Police told the Daily News that the man attempted to grab a deputy's gun.
