Drivers, beware! The LAPD is running a sobriety and license checkpoint tonight in the North Hollywood/Universal City area at Cahuenga Boulevard and Broadlawn Avenue. Between 7 p.m. and 2 a.m. Valley Traffic Division police will be stopping all motorists in an attempt to both identify possibly intoxicated drivers, as well as to educate the public on the importance of driving sober. "As of February 1, 2010, the North Hollywood Area has endured over 16 DUI related collisions, a 16% increase from the previous year," explains Commanding Officer Phillip Trotter.
