Jenny Lewis blushes during "Rabbit Fur Coat" after a fan in the audience yells "Gorgeous!"

Last Thursday, Rilo Kiley frontwoman and Silver Lake "Pioneer Woman" Jenny Lewis (MySpace) returned to Southern California, headlining at The Orpheum Theatre with support from openers Pierre de Reeder (MySpace) and the recently-reunited Beachwood Sparks (MySpace). It was the second-to-last stop on Lewis' Acid Tongue Tour, which began in mid-September at Spaceland (MySpace) -- see reviews at Web In Front and Classical Geek Theatre -- and The Echo (MySpace).

One fan at The Orpheum theorized "...that Jenny Lewis fans could watch her take a big shit on the stage and they would wildly applaud and cheer as if she just solved world hunger. Good for her I suppose, but I need a little more than that. Her new record has bored me to tears the last few weeks in prepping for this show... However, in concert, the songs from Acid Tongue worked M U C H better! I'm convinced that she could read ingredients from a can of fix-a-flat and it could sound beautiful." Meanwhile, another raved that "The show was great but the crowd was terrible. It felt like there were a lot of fair weather fans there. 'Acid Tongue' was ruined by people clapping completely out of time with the song. Plus a few drunk people were ejected from the show which begs the question - how do you get kicked out of A Jenny Lewis show? BTW, if anybody knows dancing suit idiot please let him know that he is a dick. Is he the same [guy] that kept yelling during 'Rabbit Fur Coat?'"

As for upcoming local shows, Lewis opens for Beck (MySpace) on November 9th for the grand opening of Club Nokia.

Jenny Lewis' setlist:
1. "Rabbit Fur Coat"
2. "Jack Killed Mom"
3. "The Charging Sky"
