An early morning accident has claimed the life of a pedestrian in Hollywood. The driver of a taxi cab heading north on Highland Avenue struck a man, thought to be in his 30s, just a few minutes ahead of 5 this morning, according to L.A. Now.

The pedestrian died at the scene.

"Highland Boulevard was shut down between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard to accommodate the investigation," adds KTLA, however an LAPD spokesperson said the cab driver was not cited.
