We need to hear from you.
Today during our spring member drive, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

We were excited when a beautiful, sparkling Echo Park Lake reopened last month after some intensive rehab. Turns out that the pedal boats will be returning and the boathouse cafe will be reopening, too.

You'll be able to rent pedal boats starting on July 20, according to The Eastsider LA. And you'll be able to enjoy a concession and cafe operated by Square One Dining starting on August 1—at least temporarily.

The menu is still in the works but one of its owners John Himelstein told The Eastsider that it will include weekend brunch and simple "park fare" like hamburgers, corn dogs, scones and juice.
