Homeless Man Who Attacked 'NCIS' Star Faces Up To 4 Years In Prison
The homeless man accused of attacking NCIS star Pauley Perrette outside of her Hollywood home has been charged in the attack. On Monday, David Merck was arraigned and entered a not guilty plea, reports the L.A. Times. According to the district attorney's office, the 45-year-old was charged with one felony count each of making a criminal threat and false imprisonment by violence and faces up to four years in prison.
On Thursday evening, Perrette was walking in her neighborhood in Hollywood when Merck allegedly attacked her, unprovoked. Perrette, who plays the forensic scientist Abby Sciuto on the CBS show NCIS, described her ordeal on Twitter later that night, writing, "On my street, I was jumped by a VERY psychotic homeless man." Using a sketch she drew of her attacker, her friend later tracked down Merck, who was arrested by the LAPD later that night. Sergeant Bob Ward told the Times that Merck has a "long rap sheet."
On Sunday, Perrette tweeted another update, saying that she made amends with her neighbor who she wrote ignored her as she lay on the street after the assault. "The guy With The Dog?" she wrote. "He's a good, good man."
The note also mentions that her friend Eden Galindo, guitarist for Eagles of Death Metal, is safe after the terrorist attack during their concert on Friday night in Paris.
On a much lighter note, can somebody teach Perrette how to take screenshots? Shift+control+command+3! Or the 4-key, if you want to crop the screen.
