Should this be one of those "that's so L.A." moments or a "why wasn't this done years ago" moments? For those of you who always carry plastic and never cash, this should be convenient, at least when you visit Nancy Silverton, Mario Batalli & Joe Bastlanich's Osteria and Pizzeria Mozza restaurants. "Some guests don't carry cash, so it made sense to establish this hassle-free way to pay the valet service charge," explained Regent's Vice President, Joe Burwell, in a statement. "Our valet stations at Osteria and Pizzeria Mozza will have wireless credit card terminals. In less than one minute, the transaction will be completed."

The new service will launch at 5 p.m. tomorrow.

Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
