Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

Burger lovers: it's that time of year again where the Oinkster celebrates our love for patties sandwiched between pillowy-soft buns. The restaurant's hosting their 5th annual Burger Week from June 1 to June 7, where they'll feature a different and unique burger creation each day.

While they usually only host Burger Week at their Eagle Rock location, this year, they'll also be featuring the burgers at their newer Hollywood spot. If you feel up for the challenge, eat all seven burgers and be crowned the title of "Burgerlord"... because bragging rights and you also get a special Burger Week t-shirt so you can do more bragging.

We may be used to the Oinkster's take on familiar favorites like the Big Mac or a Juicy Lucy burgers, but this year they're doing a different spin on things. Each burger from chef Andre Guerrero will be inspired by Hollywood films and TV shows. According to the L.A. Times, the Oinkster will have burgers like "the Klogger," a creation inspired by The Simpsons. It's a fully-stacked burger with bacon, bourbon-bacon jam, and even pork rind dust. We never even thought of pork rind dust as a thing, but now that we do, we want it badly. And then there are the "Red Castle Sliders," a spin on Harold and Kumar's favorite White Castle burgers. Expect some other ones based on Pulp Fiction, SpongeBob SquarePants and Bob's Burgers, among others.

If you have a hankering for dessert after all that burger-noshing, the folks at the Oinkster are also debuting a Burger Week Cupcake of the Week, dubbed the "Over the Rainbow" cupcake. It's a six-rainbow-colored, layered vanilla cake with white chocolate frosting with a a gold leaf accent.

Follow The Oinkster's Facebook page for updates on the burgers. The Oinkster is located at 2005 Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock, (323) 255-6465; and 776 Vine St. in Hollywood, (323) 536-9248.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive before year-end will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
