President Obama Heading To L.A. Tomorrow To Raise Money And Jam Traffic

Get ready Angelenos, President Obama will be swinging through L.A. on Thursday and Friday for some high-profile Hollywood fundraising and countless traffic snafus. On Thursday the president will join House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman Ben Ray Lujan at the Bel-Air home of Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn to raise money for congressional candidates. Boldface names on the event’s host committee include J.J. Abrams and Katie McGrath, Norman and Lyn Lear, and Barbra Streisand and James Brolin. Per Variety:

Ticket prices start at $15,000 per couple, which includes a photo op and dinner, although those are subject to limited availability, according to the invite. Co-host tickets are $33,400 per couple, with a photo and dinner. Co-chairs who pay $66,800 per couple gain access to the dinner and photo as well as a VIP reception.

Actor Tobey Maguire and his wife jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer will host the president at breakfast fundraiser Friday morning for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. Tickets to the event are $33,400 per couple, according to Variety.Street closures have yet to be announced, but a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told LAist that the department is currently working on a traffic advisory, which will be out soon.
