Welsh Email Translation, Problem For Road Sign

STEVE INSKEEP, host:
Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep. Road signs in Wales are bilingual. But somebody making those signs does not actually speak Welsh. The person needed a Welsh translation and emailed a request to an interpreter. Some kind of message bounced back. And without further checking, that message was duly applied to the road sign, which explains how Welsh drivers looked up to see a road sign reading, "I am not in the office at the moment. Please send any work to be translated." You're listening to Morning Edition. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
