President Musharraf Criticized Over Red Mosque

The siege in Islamabad's Red Mosque ended earlier this week, after two days of fighting between government forces and Islamists. At least 75 supporters of the hard-line clerics of the mosque were killed; so were 10 Pakistani soldiers. President Gen. Pervez Musharraf's decision to move against the Islamists was unpopular among many Pakistanis, and even elements of the army. Ahmed Rashid, a Pakistani analyst in Lahore, talks about what the actions mean for Pakistan and President Musharraf with Scott Simon.
